The Great Hunter's Point to Bay Farm Island Submarine Relays

This map contemplates a submarine race from Hunter's Point in San Francisco to Bay Farm Island in Oakland (with a quick trip to Tijuana for good measure). The 16 submarine captains captured on the poster match the drinking data collected from the 16 Bean Brew patrons who consumed Bean Brew No.5.

I crowdsourced the submarine creation process, getting help from IDEO designers around the studio. They were mostly confused about why I was asking them to draw me a submarine. I also incorporated random objects from the Noun Project (mostly anything with propellers) and modified them into spare parts suitable for a submarine.
